Position: Production Support Consultant with at least 2 Java Projects (Only US Citizens)
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 6 months
Note: Only US Citizens
Job Description:
· L3 production support, upgrades, and configuration for application
· Fix application and content related issues
· ATOS server crashes
· Grab-n-Go support
· Support loading of OEM manuals
· On call support
· Participate as key member of multi-level support structure for application (e.g. level 1, 2, and 3). Be largely available during key USA prime time working tours to receive requests for support from end users or other support team members.
· Create or update issue tracking tickets for reported technical support issues in both Bristow's Service Desk application and TerraXML's JIRA issue tracking system.
· Perform basic triage of issues, including the coordination of self-directed and requested troubleshooting and resolution of issues to determine if correct level of support is engaged.
· Problem Resolution
· Ability to investigate and resolve reports of application software problems. Provide timely and coherent responses to service desk items, email and telephone calls from end users and other support staff having problems or questions using application.
· Demonstrate ability to duplicate and adequately document problems in application issue tracking software. Talks to user to learn procedures followed and source of error.
· Ability to consult with users, IT staff, coworkers and TerraXML support to identify problems, request additional information, suggest or perform additional testing and other activities to clearly define the nature and scope of problems.
· Software Revision Support
· Ability to receive code upgrades and safely install them in test, dev and production systems with adequate archival and recordkeeping of changes made.
· Ability to read and understand code release highlights to know what to test and how functionality in the system is changed.
· Ability to test software in a non-production environment to ensure that new functionality works as designed and that existing functionality continues to operate as expected.
· System Support
· Identify causes of system performance bottlenecks and scope or cause of outages, especially since ATOS and Level 1 support have only minimal knowledge of application architecture and software components.
· Perform basic system monitoring and recovery steps such as pings and restarting services as necessary. Have basic understanding of impacts of outages and planned or unplanned restarts and knowledge of proper communication before and after corrective action.
· Monitor backups of system resources such as code, file systems and databases. Ensure timely scheduling and successful completion of OS level and application specific backups.
· Provide IT support for the applications in the production.
· Project experience on XML technologies (Schemas and DTDs, Namespaces, XSLT, Style Sheets, Xpath / XQuery, XML Authoring tools (e.g. Arbortext, Oxygen), CSS/HTML5, XForms or AngularJS.
· Application Specific Technologies (Mark Logic XML DB, Disconnected Operations, Amazon S3 Cloud Computing, DB and System Clustering, LDAP and Security Management, Backup/Restore/Archival Techniques)
