Title: Professional Development Curriculum / Course Developer (Technical Writer)

Location: Taylor, TX

Duration: 6+ Months

Rate: DOE

 

Essential Job Duties

•        Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SME's) to create training curriculum for classroom and online courses.

•        Designs and supervises production of learning resources using a wide variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and animation technologies.

•        Develops multimedia training applications; and integrates different multimedia types into more complex presentations with and without programming.

•        Generates creative and innovative training ideas and takes action to turn these ideas into realities

•        Utilizes multiple types of learning activities, including lectures, demonstrations, practice scenarios, and interactive exercises

•        Develops supplemental materials such as job aides and curriculum guides.

•        Reviews and revises existing program concepts, strategies, and instructional materials to continuously advance the training program.

•        Develops and maintains training metrics to evaluate effectiveness of training; modifies programs as needed.

•        Works with content delivery platforms including learning management and talent management systems.

•        Explores developing technologies and advises team on the application of new technologies to the training and educational goals of the department.

•        Manages online course projects from inception to completion.

•        Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

•        Bachelor's degree in Education or Training & Development, Instructional/Curriculum Design, Instructional Technology, Technical Communications, or similar discipline required.

 

Work Experience

•        Minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in curriculum development and web-based instructional design.

•        Minimum of two years' experience with multimedia authoring tools, including, but not limited to PowerPoint, Articulate, and StoryLine.

•        Minimum of two years' experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Content Management Systems.

•        Experience in the deregulated electric utility industry is helpful.

•        Proficient with graphic design software (Adobe Illustrator a strong plus).

•        Demonstrated excellence in communication and technical writing skills.

•        Familiarity with SCORM and AICC eLearning formats.

•        Proficient with MS Office application suite.
