DESCRIPTION: 

--Designs, modifies, develops, writes, and implements software programming applications, including software infrastructure and development tools. Supports and/or installs software applications, infrastructure and development tools. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Software Engineer capabilities with 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks.

--We are looking for two developers to join our development team. The initial project will be a rewrite of our firearms external and internal web sites, with related back-end processing. We are implementing Spring 3 framework for the first time, as well as build and/or deployment tools, in our upcoming projects. It is advantageous for this developer to have strong Spring skills to help accelerate our team's learning curve.

An in-person interview at 17 West Main Street in Madison will be required of final candidates. All candidates will go through a brief criminal background check before an offer can be made. Due to the sensitive nature of data and systems, continued employment is dependent on successful completion of a second, thorough criminal background investigation.

SKILLS -- REQUIRED: 

* Strong verbal communications skills with ability to clearly present information and ideas to groups of ten or more managers and/or staff.

* Experience implementing data layer access to Oracle databases for Web Applications

* JDK 1.6

* Web Services

* Ability to navigate and query a relational database (Oracle) to both develop reports and to perform data validation using common tools including SQL/PLSQL.

* Data modeling

* Service Orientated Design and Architecture

* HTML / XML / XSLT / JSP / CSS

* J2EE

* Spring

* 1st language English or equivalent (7+ years in English speaking situations like US, Europe, Asia Pac)

SKILLS -- NICE TO HAVE:
