SQL DBA – 75%, Server Systems Engineer – 25% Preferred Server Systems Engineer: Preferred Server Systems Engineer Operating System – Windows Server 2008 Clustering Technologies (Server) and NLB Clustering IIS (How to configure and troubleshoot) Virtualization( How to do VM's) Sharepoint(Nice to know) SQL DBA: The Database Administrator/System Architect plays a critical role in configuring the Amalga UIS system. Connecting existing information systems to Amalga UIS is a critical step in the implementation process and a deep familiarity with your database environment and architecture is important to ensure successful system configuration. Key responsibilities include: • Learn about Amalga UIS architecture by working closely with the Microsoft project team • Develop understanding of how the Amalga UIS system is configured (parsing, interfaces, base views etc.) • Work closely with the Microsoft project team during the planning, configuration and testing of database connections to Amalga UIS • Responsible for Microsoft SQL Server Administration • Implement and maintain a backup and disaster recovery plan • Monitor and maintain appropriate disk storage requirements for the database • Support application testing, ensuring proper database operation • Monitor table, disk utilization, and database fragmentation on a periodic basis • Maintain an ongoing configuration design and documentation for the databases • Perform routine tasks such as purging old files and checking disk space • Maintain database security • Troubleshoot database issues • Create and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures as needed • Run diagnostics as required • Accountable for monitoring, troubleshooting, fixing database issues 24x7x365 • Administer SQL Reporting Services and create/maintain SQL reports • Own system administration post-live Preferred skills and qualifications: • Strongly recommend that person in this role is in-house (as opposed to an external consultant) with deep knowledge of the healthcare information systems environment at your hospital, IT department operations, current database configuration, security practices, and general internal systems architecture and standards • Intermediate level database administrator with 3 to 5 years of professional work experience using Microsoft SQL Server version 2000/2005 • Experience with very large-scale database application development and maintenance (VLDB) • Experience writing SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers • Experience with configuring systems for clustering and backup/restore processes • Knowledge of SQL Data Transformation Services (DTS) • Familiarity with Windows 2003 Server administration and Windows Active Directory • Experience performing database analysis and design • Effective verbal communication skills and documentation skills in both business and technical areas • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills • Knowledge of system maintenance, backups, upgrades and interfaces • Experience with server hardware configuration • Thorough understanding of client server, 2- and 3- tier systems
