The client seeks a Solutions Architect with strong business acumen to lead technical architecture development in Herndon, VA.
Candidate responsibilities will include: • Responsible for the overall technical design and build of the technical architecture o Including Security, Accessibility, Data Integrity, Availability and ILM • Presenting an aggregate view of the overall architecture to high level management • Produce a detailed technical design document to match the solution design specifications • Oversee custom development and quality assurance efforts for custom work • Providing technology evaluation and selection advice regarding the use of COTS, custom approaches, open source and cloud appropriateness • SME coordination • Manage development designs across multiple projects.
Note: Resource must be available to work onsite in Herndon, VA. Only local resources will be considered.
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years' experience architecting end-to-end technical solutions
• 10+ years' experience with three or more of the following:
o Hands-on experience with Java, HTML5, JSP, JSF
o Hands-on experience with WebServices, SOAPUI, REST
o Hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL
o Hands-on experience with WebSphere, WebLogic, or similar o Hands-on experience with XML
o Hands-on experience with Oracle MapViewer, Spatial
o Hands-on experience with various Reporting/BI tools
o Hands-on experience with HP ALM
o Hands-on experience with Oracle db 11g, 12c
• Demonstrated expert level of proficiency in the use of computer languages and utilities necessary to support application development • Experience designing and delivering technical architectures for cloud based solutions • Experience designing and delivering technical architectures for mobile based solutions • Experience leveraging multiple infrastructure types into cohesive solutions • Experience leveraging COTS products into custom solutions. • Demonstrated ability to lead others and manage multiple assignments simultaneously • Demonstrated verbal leadership and the ability to mentor project developers • Able to design and build systems that are integrated with other client systems • Experience with full life-cycle software applications development (i.e., design, construction, testing, and implementation) • Experience with requirements definition and specifications design • Demonstrated client interaction skills and abilities; work in a team environment, onsite in client facility
Preferred Qualifications: • Able to perform the complete system life cycle phases from project initiation, analysis and requirements, design, coding, testing and implementation. • Experience with an Agile development team desired. • Experience with management systems dealing in contracts, properties, and accounting. • Able to adhere to client development standards and SOX compliance. • Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical. • Proven ability to develop and maintain system documentation. • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field. • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
