Position: Senior UNIX Administrator
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Employment Type: Contract

Required Skills:
• 9+ years' experience system administration and support with Unix OS: Solaris and Red Hat Linux
• 5+ years' experience with SAN/ NAS storage environment
• Knowledge and hands on experience with Symantec Net Backup Enterprise backup software
• Knowledge and hands on experience with FTP and secure FTP
• Knowledge and hands on experience with DNS, name services and general networking configurations
• SNMP knowledge in respect to setting up monitoring and alerting for Unix/ Linux systems
• Shell and Perl scripting capability
• File system performance and tuning experience
• X86 servers (Linux) experience
Responsibilities:
• Administer, monitor and implement all Unix servers
• Maintain and manage all aspects of Unix server maintenance from operating system patching to security updates on a timely basis
• Configure, manage and setup systems and alerts within monitoring tool for Unix systems and peripherals, (requires knowledge of SNMP and monitoring tools)
• Administer, monitor, expand and mature the Backup environment - manage and monitor Veritas Netbackup Enterprise software, Data Domain disk to disk, and Quantum tape library infrastructure ensuring all data is securely backed up
• Administer, monitor and troubleshoot clustered server environment using Symantec Storage Foundation HA and Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC and Oracle ASM
• Administer, monitor and troubleshoot SAN environment; provide system usage and capacity reporting
• Create and maintain documentation in support of UNIX based Systems and Servers, backup systems infrastructure, and storage systems (SAN and NAS) which includes preparation of change documentation, configuration documentation and SOPs, etc
• Implement infrastructure projects for Unix, backup and storage environments
• System performance and capacity planning
