• At least 2-3 yrs of experience in architecture, design and implementation of HortonWorks integration with existing DW platforms
• Experience with Apache Spark and knowledge in Spark core libraries is strongly preferred
• 2-3 yrs of hands-on experience in at least 3 out of Pig, Sqoop, NOSQL DB, Storm, HBase
• Analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of the client's infrastructure design, integration, and operations with business analyst team and the client.
• Research software and hardware services, and define most cost-effective solutions to meet client requirements.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and estimate cost involved in the solution design proposed and compare with customer's budgets; develop overall solution implementation plan.
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in engineering/computer science or related field preferred
• Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem - HDFS, MapReduce, Pig/Hive, Squoop, Hbase.
• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux, Ruby, Python, Perl or other scripting languages.
• Development knowledge of J2EE and design patterns in a distributed, multi-platform, heterogeneous computing environment.
• Strong understanding of Software development life cycle
• Strong understanding of Information architecture models
• Good understanding about database structure and networking
• Good understanding of technologies and client business
• Ability to construct an approach/plan for the execution of priorities
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
