Position: Sr. Java Developer

Duration: 6+ Months

Location: Augusta, ME

 

Project Overview:

This contractor will be providing support & maintenance to the MeCare application; an application used by Behavioral Health professionals to assess and document client needs.  Currently this application can only be operated using IE8, the focus is to make it compatible for use with any browser. 

 

Job Description:

This contractor should have extensive Java experience.

35% Work Effort - Application Modernization: Using Java – rewrite the existing codebase such that rendered HTML, CSS and JavaScript are W3C standards compliant for Internet Browsers

35% Work Effort - Application Modernization: Using Java – rewrite the existing codebase such that rendered HTML, CSS and JavaScript are compliant with Federal requirements mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

15% Work Effort - Serve as technical advisor to junior staff in relation to Java and/or Oracle PLSQL technologist

15% Work Effort - Serve as Agile team member on non-operations based application enhancements

 

Operating Systems:

Windows 7, Intermediate Skills, 8+ years' experience required

 

Programming Language/Development Tools:

Java 1.7+, Intermediate Skills, 2+ years' experience required

JavaScript, Advanced Skills, 5+ years' experience required (Experience with JQuery)

XSL/XSLT Software, Intermediate Skills, 2+ years' experience required

JDeveloper, Advanced Skills, 5+ years' experience required

HTML 5, Intermediate Skills, 3-5 years' experience required
CSS 3, Intermediate Skills, 3-5 years' experience required

Bootstrap.js, Intermediate Skills, 2+ years' experience PREFERRED

 

Database Systems/Database Tools:

Oracle RDBMS, Intermediate Skills, 3+ years' experience required (TOAD for Oracle; SQL Developer)

 

Frameworks/SLDs/Methodologies:

Agile, Intermediate Skills, 2+ years' experience required

(An understanding of Agile methodologies & the use of Jira web-based tool)
