Position: Linux,Solaris Admin /Unix Admin

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 6+ months

 

Job Description: 

 

·        Strong in Solaris and Linux administration (different versions)

·        Configuration and administration of Logical volume manager.

·        Good knowledge and experience on Unix Management tools

·        Strong in HA concepts, SAN/NAS environment

·        Changing Kernel Parameters

·        Patch and Package administration

·        Printer, NIS, NFS, Samba administration

·        Backup administration using VeritasNetbackup (preferred), experience with any other D2D storage based backup product (good to have).

·        Strong in troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue

·        Strong knowledge in Configuration and administration of Veritas products like VxVM, VCS.

·        Writing shell/perl scripts to accomplish day to day system administration task

·        Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity /Disaster recovery planning.

·        Experience in data center migration: P2V, V2V using tools like Platespin or VMware converter, lift/shift of servers, migration of data using any other tools

·        Experience in handling large and critical environments

·        Highlighting of  location specific risks to  project  manager and support for mitigation of risks

·        Training  to operations team for sustenance, troubleshooting guides preparation

 

Preferred

 

·        Certification on Solaris(System Administration, Hardware , Performance Tuning, Network Administration)

·        RHEL,  VxVM/VCS is a plus

·        ITIL V3/V2 – desired.
