BI DATA ARCHITECT

Minneapolis, MN

Job Responsibilities:

•                    Maintenance and extension of the Enterprise Data Warehouse. 

•                    Provide architectural support for integrating data with external and internal data sources

•                    Work directly with existing data architects to define, govern, and model all attributes, rules, and data objects for the relational databases, DW and BI tiers.

•                    Work with Data Stewards and Data Analysts on data requirements and Quality Assurance.

•                    Develop the technical framework for project solutions which pay consideration to scalability, reliability, availability, and security.

•                    Support implementation of the Master Data Management technology

•                    Create and maintain quality documentation for technical and non-technical staff.

Required Skills:

•                    Demonstrated mastery of dimensional and relational modeling techniques

•                    Solid experience of data warehousing principles and implementation methodologies

•                    Understands common data quality issues related to BI and can elaborate on how to resolve them

•                    Ability to conduct data analysis including data profiling in order to understand data flows, data lineage, valid code sets, and master data management objectives

•                    Ability to quickly learn new tools based on conceptual understanding of technology and translate tools to business

•                    Ability to design views for reporting and BI tier

•                    Ability to critique good and bad data warehouse design elements and patterns

Qualifications:

•                    8+ years of experience as an Architect/Data Modeler, with the full range of activities associated with Data Modeling Design and Implementation (Logical, Physical); database environments of both transactional and analytical in nature

•                    8+ years of Business Intelligence (BI) application delivery

•                    Bachelor's degree or equivalent certifications / experience required

•                    Cross-platform data integration (SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle, Mainframe based systems) a plus 

•                    Development experience with Oracle PL/SQL 11G, and OBIEE a plus

•                    Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite a plus

•                    Expertise with MicroStrategy a plus
