Position : Senior Web Application Administrator
Location : NYC NY
Duration : 6 Months +
Senior Web Application Administrator (5-7 yrs. experience)
Responsibilities:
Profile, analyze, and resolve both frontend and backend web applications and services
Provide senior-level Production, Pre-Production, and Test support for a global .NET environment that relies on IIS and SQL Server
Partner with Developers and IT Operations to improve application performance and scalability
Drive best practices for system design, capacity planning, and integration of new applications
Proactively design and develop system and application monitoring strategies with the director of the team
Creative thinker who can investigate multiple paths in the hunt for root cause of an urgent issue
Lead support of business critical outages, clear the path to resolution, and own the steps for prevention
Lead project meetings and assume accountability for technical direction of the environments supported
Provide technical leadership and mentor other members of the team
Participate in a level-3 on-call rotation in support of our 24x7 QA and Production environments
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge and experience concerning the following:
* 1 year of proven experience writing your own applications
* 5+ years Microsoft Windows Server 2008 64-bit
* 5+ years IIS, ASP.NET Support
* Windows Performance Monitor (Perfmon)
* Application Performance Monitoring (AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Extrahop, Gomez, etc)
* PowerShell and SQL skills a plus
* Microsoft Windows Server 2008 certifications a plus
* Windows Debugging (Windbg) a huge plus
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
