Candidate Profile/ Responsibilities:
• Must have proven track record in successfully building, releasing, and maintaining large-scale enterprise systems in a complex technology environment – preferably within a major Global Asset Manager or Investment Banking Group
• Ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, must be able to be a voice of reason and authority, make the tough calls while leading and demonstrating value-add principles to a team.
• Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meeting
• Take high level business/functional requirements and break them down to sprint ready User Stories
• Improve the productivity of the teams in any way possible
• Must have ability to present clearly and succinctly to the business stakeholders
• Proactively drive application architecture and on-going evolution ensuring maintenance of current stability, reliability, performance, flexibility, and capacity
• Manage and refine of the teams Product Backlog, working closely with users to refine requirements
• Instil best practices around coding techniques, architectural design, maximum code reuse, testability, application integration, performance, reliability, manageability and security, and understand how this applies to an agile environment
• Must be a self-starter with ability to build working relationships and ability to work effectively in a global complex – matrixed organization.
• Must have an analytical and questioning mind. Able to challenge the status quo on a large scale and suggest viable alternative approaches.
• Find and work to remove roadblocks (including tools) and convey information to ensure high visibility of team progress
• Ensure that communication is flowing across the team and to/from the Product Owner and the various Stakeholders
• Be responsible for keeping release/project information consolidated, organized and up to date
• Set clear annual objectives and goals for team, while managing, mentoring and motivating developers from hiring, induction and development. Integrate and encourage the team to partner with the business to understand their current and future state business drivers. Work with the team to identify and resolve the root cause of any problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Strong track record of project delivery and building Enterprise grade applications
• Strong Scrum/Agile experience, ideally having acted in the role of Scrum Master in multiple teams or organisations
• Excellent team player and team builder
• Flexible and Comfortable with uncertainty in requirements etc. in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
• Experience in gathering and refining requirements in an agile environment – e.g. using User Stories
• Experience with Rally Software Agile suite for Release, Iteration, Backlog grooming, User Story creation and Test Planning
Preference given to candidates with the following experience:
• Experience with Fixed Income applications and/or trade order management systems being highly desirable
• SCRUM Master certification
• Experience with Rally Software Agile suite for Release, Iteration, Backlog grooming, User Story creation and Test Planning
• Experience of using Specification By Example techniques to aid a common understanding of requirements.
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree or the international equivalent in Computer or Mathematical Science is preferred or commensurate relevant work experience
