Client currently seeks a Senior Cognos Developer to join their team in Brooklyn, NY.
Qualifications:

Position Functions or Responsibilities:
- Working with module developers to understand and, as necessary, document data structures in the Financial Systems and Business Operations (FSBO) COGNOS environment and join data to other enterprise data in the same environment.
- Participation in requirement meetings with end-users to understand and collect Business Intelligence (BI) reporting needs.
- Documenting these requirements, resolving ambiguities and conflicts, and gathering consensus.
- Collaborating with other groups to design and develop new enterprise reporting solutions.
- Develop BI reports and dashboards to serve end-users.
- Tuning supporting queries and report build processes to improve end-user access response times.
- Designing, documenting and deploying front-end components of analytical applications.
- Developing COGNOS query/report development skills of analytical staff through knowledge transfer.
- Assisting in the rollout of these applications.
Also, required will be the generation of reports, creating interim databases for reporting purposes; validate accuracy of generated report to reliable source data including variance to prior data; provide documentation of generated reports; provide expertise and assistance to other departments in extracting data and creating reports, and peer review reports created by other developers and provide feedback.
Basic Qualifications:
