SAS UNIX Developer

Bloomfield, Connecticut

6+ months contract

 

Description:

·         Provide capacity and expertise to support minor enhancements and small projects

·         Manage the Service Request (SR) intake, triage, and prioritization with client oversight

·         Solid analytical skill with interest in learning business processes in a multi-platform system

·         Adept in SAS Base and Macro programming with DB2 database

·         Proficient in data warehousing and data analysis

·         Familiar with Unix scripting

·         Good problem solving skill applied to debugging process flows and program error logs

·         Able to work with business clients to understand and analyse business requirements

·         Experience with on-call support in a production environment

·         Good communication skills

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

·         3+ years of solid application development experience

·         3+ years experience designing and developing highly efficient SAS code for use in automated data processing systems on UNIX based platforms. 

·         3+ years experience with Unix shell scripting

·         3+ years experience with SQL in a relational database environment

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Must have ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines and be comfortable manipulating and summarizing large quantities of data

·         Knowledge of version control tools and processes (Subversion, CVS, and Clear Case etc.)
