Position Summary
The BSA role is within the IT Service Management pillar of the IT Cost Transparency program. The role supports a number of key initiatives to increase transparency of IT services and costs, and requires cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders across IT, Finance, and Product Management.
A key initial focus for this role is to help develop and implement an IT Service Catalog with both technical and business views. The BSA will work with IT partners to document and update service definitions and accompanying financial information such as cost components, cost drivers, chargeback methodology, and help to keep track of dependencies and mapping across services. In addition, as IT areas redefine service offerings to align with industry best practices and business needs, this role requires close collaboration with the teams, and understanding, analyzing, and documenting proposed service changes – e.g. newly established independent services, tiering of services, etc. – to help establish chargeback processes, financial metrics, implementation roadmaps, and communications across stakeholder groups. He/She is responsible for helping to define and then execute a Service Catalog Management process, including ensuring the catalog is accurate and up to date, and reflects the current details, status, interfaces, and dependencies of all services that are in the production environment or that are being prepared to run.
The BSA role will support various activities related to identifying, creating, and implementing frameworks and tools for service managers and service analysts within certain areas of IT to enable them to provide discernible continuous service improvements aligned with business needs to contribute to enhanced performance and reduced costs over time.
The BSA is also responsible for collaborating with IT teams to facilitate responses to questions or recommendations from Business and any accompanying action steps. This includes keeping track of open items, prioritization, research and analysis, preparing communications, and seeing items through to meaningful completion. He/She will perform ongoing research and analysis on IT services delivered to Business, and their accompanying costs; this includes identifying and explaining trends for IT service areas and services as well as for individual Business Units / Product Lines / Products, including overall costs, unit costs, consumption, etc.
Principal Responsibilities
· Liaise with partners across IT to facilitate requirements and information gathering for key initiatives. · Analyze, understand, and translate IT services and financial data into meaningful insight, trends, and implications for IT service areas and Business Units. · Create presentations in business terms to facilitate discussions with Product Management. · Track questions and feedback from Business; help to translate feedback into improvement opportunities; liaise with associated IT teams to reach satisfactory resolutions. · Assist with identifying and implementing frameworks and tools for service managers and service analysts to enable continuous service improvements. · Assist with cost modeling across IT services as it relates to the new service structures established and mapped via the new IT Service Catalog. · Assist with analysis, planning, and implementation of the IT Service Catalog; coordinate with IT and Finance teams to ensure harmonized integrations.
Provide IT Service Catalog management including:
· Ensure the service catalog is accurate and up to date, and reflects the current details, status, interfaces, and dependencies of all services that are being prepared to run or are in the production environment according to DTCC defined policies. · Ensure the service catalog supports the evolving needs of all other IT Services Management process for catalog information, including all interfaces and dependency information. · Ensure that all activities are carried out as defined in the Service Catalog Management process. · Ensure that appropriate views of the Service Catalog are maintained and made available to those for whom they are targeted.
Knowledge/Skills
· Strong ability to facilitate information and requirement gathering sessions. · Strong research, analytical, and Excel skills. · Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. · Strong experience with presentation development and PowerPoint. · Organizational skills, including ability to multi-task, set priorities and bring open items to closure. · Working knowledge of at least one of the following areas: IT service management, service catalogs, enterprise infrastructure, financial analysis/management, chargeback/costing models. · Knowledge of DTCC initiatives, business units, application systems, and supporting infrastructure would be beneficial. · Education, Training or Certification · Bachelor's degree required. Preferred certification in at least one of the following frameworks: ITIL, COBIT, IT CMF. Thanks & Regards,
