Responsibilities:
· Typically experienced across multiple IT areas and all DBMS.
· Serves as point of escalation for complex issues.
· Responsible for developing and executing project plans, as well as coordinating groups of IT staff.
· Extensive experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting - drill down approach with O/S, database and application
· Experience with Teradata tools Viewpoint, BAR, Multi-System Manager
· Ability to project plan, co-ordinate and carry to completion database initiatives, with solid interpersonal organizational and people communication skills, as well as solid writing and oral communication skills.
· Experience with system utilities and load utilities (TPT, Fastload, Fastexport, MLoad etc.) Well experienced in data warehouse, data migration and other data conversion. (Very strong Migration experience needed)
· Ability to clearly articulate business and technical issues with senior management, peers, and outside parties (vendors) Understanding of ETL architectures, data movement technologies and business information systems.
· System Performance tuning and capacity planning experience, including production and interpretation of PMCP Reports
· Teradata certifications
· Manages and maintains all Teradata production and non-production databases.
· Responsible for Teradata standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration.
· Perform Production implementations and work with application developers to tune their SQL for standard coding practices and generate DDL.
· Responsible for design and correct functioning of backup and recovery on DBMS.
· Configures Teradata database parameters, creates prototype designs against logical data models, and defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements.
· Optimizes Teradata database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.
· Evaluates and implements new initiatives on technology and process improvement.
· Serves as SME in all aspects of Teradata data management and database design.
· Serves as SME in all aspects of Teradata DBMS software.
· Responsible for maintaining the availability of Teradata version 14 databases in a production and non-production environments
· Technical lead in critical database projects requiring skills in design, development, production implementation and monitoring phases
· Define Teradata database architectures and strategies to meet application availability, scalability and performance requirements
