REQUIREMENT DETAILS:
Network Security Engineer
Location: Stamford, CT
Duration: 6 months
Rate: 45/hr on c2c all incl
You will be tasked with implementing and managing firewalls, switches, and routers that protect the entire infrastructure from security risks.
This company is at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, building massively distributed systems that handle millions of transactions per day. The security of these systems is their number one priority and protecting them from malicious attacks and penetrations is paramount.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operate, maintain, and administer firewalls, and VPN's which include firewall policy changes, upgrades, new installations and VPN deployment.
- Manage end-point security controls, remote access security controls, and web and email security controls.
- Optimize the operational aspect of supporting the firewalls and centralized management servers while providing engineering solutions for capacity and planning of the entire firewall infrastructure and related systems.
In order to qualify:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a network, security and/or systems administration role.
- 2+ years of firewall administration experience
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP concepts and experience using network troubleshooting tool and techniques
- Programming, web development, and database experience (Python, Perl, Shell, MySQL, or similar).
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field (advanced degree a plus)
