Position: Hyperion ESSbase Administrator
Location: Dunwoody, GA

Database Administrator (DBA), Enterprise Planning & Reporting Systems
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The DBA of Enterprise Planning & Reporting Systems is primarily responsible for the optimal performance of the Essbase, Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Strategic Finance applications and data integration processes between all three.
POSITION REPONSIBILITIES:
- Our current version of Hyperion Planning allows direct real time integration of data from the planning application into our reporting cubes (ASO) without the need for data extraction and load; this individual would be responsible for investigating the viability of this functionality and implementing it
- We currently use BSO cubes in our planning application as our previous version of Hyperion Planning did not support ASO; however our current version does. This individual would be responsible for developing the conversion of our planning cubes to ASO and implementing it
- Determining if we can leverage partitioning as an alternative to extracting data from one cube to load to another (to eliminate current cross cube data load processes)
- Partnering with other teams and/or IT to leverage other tools (ex. BlackLine) and processes to automate data loads that are manual today
- Partnering with IT to identify other tools and processes that can improve performance and simplify existing processes (ex. Exalytics or Times 10)
- Staying informed on the Oracle (Hyperion) roadmap and best practices by engaging in EPM conferences and online forums/communities, and subscribing to industry publications and white papers, in order to make recommendations to the organization regarding upgrades/patches, product enhancements and new functionality, problem solving, etc.
- Leading problem determination (root cause analysis) and documenting the source of problems and their resolution. Recognizing and analyzing trends in errors so as to identify and install long term solutions
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Finance or related field. MBA a plus.
- 5 years of work experience with Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning administration. Knowledge of version 11.1.2 or higher highly desirable
- Completion of Essbase bootcamp required (or equivalent level of expertise)
- Completion of Hyperion Planning bootcamp required (or equivalent level of expertise)
- Some experience working with ASO cubes and MDX scripting required
- Expertise with SQL, Oracle Discoverer or similar database query tools and Microsoft Excel a plus.
- Highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and proven customer focused project and process management skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively to develop solutions with minimal guidance.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
