Job Title: Business objects developer

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 9+ Months

 

Job Description:

Design, code, and test new BI applications including Business Objects Webi and Crystal reports, Universes, and Xcelsius dashboards. Work with business customer and DA team to ensure requirements are documented correctly and delivered on time. Troubleshoot existing BI applications as needed. Work with database platform teams to optimize solutions and improve performance. Bring new ideas and recommendations on BI products and best practices. Participates in technical design, development and implementation of application systems. Works with designer/analysts to implement enhancements or new applications. Attends meetings to understand desired results, coding, unit and/or system testing, and documents changes. Occasionally requires troubleshooting and correcting production issues in emergency type situations.

Responsibilities:
Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and revise programs.
Interfaces with system designers to design, code, test and implement application programs. Assists in developing application specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree  
SQL, Teradata
5 Years’ experience in Application Development using Business Objects (3.1 and 4.0 Universe Designer, WebI Developer, Crystal Reports Developer, SQL, Unix
