KEYS:
Data Architect who has payer experience with the Provider and Member subject areas. Experience with Product and Personnel is a plus.

Overview:
The Data Architect role… they need to have normalized versus dimensional data modeling experience with these subject areas.

Data Architect
•Prior healthcare payer experience with depth in multiple subject areas including Member, Provider, Product, Claims, Premium and Clinical.
•Perform the detailed data analysis. Verify natural keys through SQL queries against the source databases.
•Develop the enterprise data architecture for operational data stores, MDM data stores, integration data stores, data warehouses, analytics hubs and data marts.
•Develop data modeling standards.
•Proficient with one or more leading data modeling tools such as Erwin, Enterprise Architect, PowerDesigner, etc.
•Develop the conceptual data model(s).
•Develop the logical data model(s).
•Proficient with SQL with emphasis on the SELECT statement.
•Develop entity and attribute descriptions and definitions for the models and ensure that conflicts in descriptions and definitions are resolved.
•Identify the key facts and dimensions necessary to support the business requirements.
•Conduct User Interviews and Data Analysis Review meetings.
•Conduct sessions to review and vet the data architecture and data models.
•Perform source data quality assessments.
•Identify the appropriate data sources with the assistance of the business analyst.
•Perform the activities necessary to support the standardization of facts and dimensions.
•Prepare prototype data models to support the development efforts.
•Assist the Business Data Analyst in mapping the data from source to target.
•Assist the Business Data Analyst and Data Integration team with data related issues such as: assessing data quality, data consolidation, evaluating existing data sources.
•Perform re-engineering of source models when necessary.
•Assist the Data Integration Architect to ensure the Data Architecture is applied properly.
•Assist the DBA in converting the logical model(s) to the physical database. Provide indexing recommendations as appropriate balancing trade-offs associated with load time and queries. Develop aggregation and table partitioning recommendations to improve performance.
•Maintain data in the metadata repository associated with the data models.
