Role : Sr. Java Developer
Location : New Havens, CT
Duration : 6 months+

8-12 years candidates. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CANDIDATES HAVING LESS EXPERIENCE

Project/Position Description 

a. Describe project, position 

We immediately need to support and develop important web applications that are built using core Java Spring modules. The jobs required skills are mentioned below. 
Minimum 8-12 years experience in java in which minimum 5 years experience in Spring using the following modules - 
• Spring MVC - should be able to design web pages in JSP using Tag libraries integrate with Spring MVC module. Experience with rich JSP and JavaScript is required. 
• Spring AOP - should be able to design and develop Spring AOP module using database layer and Hibernate. 
• Spring IoC - design and develop Spring beans and modularize the business logic with the IoC (Inversion of Control) container. 
• Expert level of understanding in JPA (Java Persistence Architecture using Spring). 
• Experience in Velocity template based web pages and java mail using Spring. 
• Experience with Spring JDBC, Spring Security and Spring Quartz is required, and Spring Integration using Enterprise Patterns is preferred. 
• Should be able to understand the build process and deployments using Maven. 
• Experience with Oracle and having core knowledge of RDBMS concepts. 
• SpringSource Certification is a plus. 

b. Describe business challenge (why is this resource needed?) 

The current resource that was supporting 100% these applications is leaving the group to pursue other opportunities outside Yale and we do not have any additional capacity within the team to accommodate this project request. The resource is required to immediately support and enhance teaching fellow application and other java applications. 

c. What is required on a daily basis? 

i. Working with our Technical Manager and getting guidance on requirements. 
ii. Hands on development to accomplish the project milestones and business requirements. 
iii. Unit testing/Migrations to production. 
iv. Documentation. 

d. End users supported (e.g. School of Management) 

Registrar Office, Yale College, Graduate School and Professional Schools.

g. Level of management interaction – Medium
