The position will also be required to conceptualize, design and set up elaborate, maintainable, industrial strength jobs to move data into SQL Server databases. Jobs would need to be complete with failure alerts and set up for quick debugging in case of failures. This is not a mature BI/Data Integration setup and this position will be required to advise on architecture and establish BI/Data Integration best practices and standards.
Qualified candidates should be very conversant with working on the Business Intelligence Development Studio/SQL Server Data Tools, especially SSIS. Candidates should have demonstrated skills in data processing automation in the Windows platform. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be able to elicit requirements and work with non-technical Subject Matter Experts. Responsible for producing quality reports with an eye for detail. Produce quality documentation of processes used and train personnel of less expertise.
Environment is dynamic and unpredictable so the position must be able to adapt, multi-task and continuously strive to exceed business customer expectations. Must be familiar with Project Management and reporting.
Required Technical skills:
•SQL (Structured Query Language) mastery. This is mastery of ANSI SQL in general (not to be confused with SQL SERVER/Transact SQL). Should comprehend, debug and create complex multi-joins, star joins as well as ability to make data change SQL in complex situations. 6 years minimum.
•SSIS (Business Intelligence Development Studio/SQL Server Data Tools) mastery. 3 years minimum.
•SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and/or Business Objects (2 years.)
•Data Modelling (Dimensional as well as relational). 4 years minimum.
•Proven experience and a knack for data processing automation in the Windows platform. 3 years minimum.
Desirable Technical skills (not mandatory):
•ArcGIS software from ESRI, web and desktop version (1 year)
•Erin (2 years).
•PowerShell (1 year)
•IBM DataStage
•Excel macros
