Job Title: - SOA Architect – (Enterprise level Solution Architect with SOA and Enterprise Service Bus experience )
Location: - Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania 19004
Duration: 6 + Month (possible extension)
Job Description and Requirements:
· Works with the Project and Business teams in analyzing the requirements, providing enterprise design solutions, and works with the Development Leads in identifying components for reuse as needed.
· Must partner with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Application Developers to determine design decisions and document the solution to meet the business requirements.
· The role is dedicated to solution design and has no expectation of hands on coding.
· Must have a firm understanding of Service Orientation Architecture (SOA), standard design patterns, and batch processing (ETL).
· The design work will be project related but will need to fit into the enterprise architecture, and the design deliverables will go through a design review and approval process.
· General Deliverables:
· Documentation of analysis, effort estimates, and technical design of solutions.
· Leads/ participates in system analysis and designing of new systems and/ or integrations.
· Creates and documents technical designs according to standard templates containing UML diagrams and descriptive narratives in a clearly, unambiguously, and concise manner.
· Documents system attributes, external and internal interfaces, data schemas, and integration specifications.
· Creates documentation describing the reusable services, design patterns, and technical components (e.g. Web Services and SOA components, composite/ orchestration services, data transformations, error handling, auditing, logging etc.).
· Has ability to recognize, reuse, and also create Integration Design Patterns.
· Qualifications:
· Has very strong analytical skill to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and create a clear solution.
· Must have very strong experience and knowledge of Service Orientation Architecture (SOA).
· Has very strong modeling skill to represent design information in graphical forms that augment textual representations in natural language, including using modeling languages already established in the development organization.
· Must have very strong experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML).
· Should have strong experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD).
· Has strong experience and understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle Design (SDLC) and implementation.
· Has strong writing skills to communicate information effectively to Managers and Technical staff.
· Must have strong interpersonal skills to help negotiate priorities and resolve conflicts among project stakeholders such as business owners, project management, and software development.
· Should have strong interviewing skills to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential business problem and solution.
· Has ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
· Must have very strong experience with ESB and complex system integrations
· Has ability to turn requirements into design and apply Enterprise Integration Patterns to new System Integration Architecture.
· Related Activities:
· Collaborates with the Infrastructure/ Operations team, DBAs, Technical Leads, Developers, and Business Analysts for design activities.
· Works with the Project Manager or Project Sponsor to document the project technical design.
· Manages changes to baselined design through effective application of change control processes and tools.
· Provides enterprise design solutions, and identifies components for reuse as needed.
· Must have a firm understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), standard design patterns, and batch processing.
· Must have experience with Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technology, specifically Software AG webMethods, Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), process management, and MS SQL Server technology.
Qualifications
Skill and Experience Requirements:
· Has expertise in Service Orientation (SOA), Unified Modeling Language (UML), Software as a Service (SaaS), Object Orientated Analysis and Design (OOAD), Insurance Policy Administration (Client), Billing and/ or Claims Systems, and Integration Architecture.
· Has 6+ years of hands-on development experience.
· Has 3+ years of hands-on development experience on large scale enterprise systems.
· Has 2+ years of solution architecture experience with integration of numerous systems.
· Has thorough experience and understanding of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based architecture approaches, design methodologies, and design patterns.
· Is knowledgeable with Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technology, specifically Software AG webMethods.
· Experience with Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) and process management.
· Experience with MS SQL Server technology.
· Insurance domain knowledge is a plus to have credibility with user representatives and be able to work effectively with them.
