Direct Client Need - Healthcare Coder Consultants ASAP!!
Job Description:
Education UG( Eg:Bcom/ Bsc/ Any): Minimum of successful completion of an AHIMA/AAPC approved Coding Certificate Program and coding credential (CPC, CPC-H or CCS). Minimum one year of hospital inpatient/Same Day Surgery coding experience would be an additional benefit.
Education PG( Eg: MCA/ MBA/ Any/ NA): Any (Life sciences, or medical graduates, would be preferred)
Professional Qualification( Eg: CPA/ CFA): Coding certified (CCS/CPC, CPC-H)

Job Responsibility:
Assigning codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures according to ICD-9 Coding Guidelines for inpatient encounters and/or same day surgery cases &/or Emergency department records.
Reviews appropriate provider documentation to determine principal diagnosis, co-morbidities and complications, secondary conditions, surgical procedures and modifiers.
Utilizes technical coding principals and MS-DRG reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnoses and procedures.
Assigns present on admission (POA) value for inpatient diagnoses.
Extracts required information from source documentation and enters into encoder and abstracting system.
Identifies non-payment conditions (HAC) and when required, report through established procedures.
Reviews documentation to verify and, when necessary, correct the patient disposition upon discharge.
Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and adheres to official coding guidelines.
Years of experience( Mention Range): Min of 1-2 years of relevant experience
