ROLE:  Mainframe Data Analyst

Location:  Madison, WI

Duration:  6+ Months

1.      Data Analysis, 5-9 years of Experience

2.      Mainframe, 5-9 years of Experience

3.      Microsoft - SQL Server, 5-9 years of Experience

We seeking a talented Data Analyst to support a public sector client based in Madison, Wisconsin. This resource will perform ad hoc data requests / queries, execute ongoing operational reports / queries, and work directly with business users to perform requirements gathering and analysis for new reports. This will be a client-facing role and strong presentation and communication skills are very important. Public Sector experience, particularly related to the administration of public assistance program, is preferred but not required for this role.

 

Candidates will need to have a strong understanding of the following:

·         Capability to interface with business users to drive out requirements and understand business needs.

·         Strong knowledge in SQL and relational databases

·         Experience and knowledge using Mainframe, COBOL, DB2, and JCL

·         Good experience with Microsoft Excel to format and summarize the data

·         Proven spoken/written communication skills

Preferences:

·         Public Sector industry background preferred

·         Minimum of two years in data analysis is preferred

·         Knowledge of using Business Objects to create ad-hoc reports to query data is desirable

·         Knowledge of using SAS to query/manipulate data is desirable

Education: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
