Position: Sr. Oracle DBA.
Location: NJ
Duration: Long term
Key Activities & Accountabilities:
• Ensure continuous 24x7 operation and availability of Oracle Databases
• Monitoring of the Databases, proactive provisions on the environment, restore the service in case of incidents, work with the SMEs (subject matter expert) on the level 3 issues in case of bug or specific technology stack issues
• Work with DBA and infrastructure team on the upgrades, patches, clones and resolution of cross functional issues
• Perform database monitoring, query performance tuning, analysis, sizing and capacity planning, backup and recovery, including recovery test execution
• Provide support to the Functional and Development teams during the build and implementation phases
• Advance monitoring and support backend environments - implement changes to improve robustness, performance and smooth operations
• Coordinate and Maintain OS level scripts (i.e., Unix Shell) for system DB maintenance
• Participate to the maintenance of global converging Oracle solutions architecture and standard procedures within the Global DBA team
• Maintain Disaster Recovery Site and participate/lead DR Testing
• Participate and adhere to FDA, SOX and similar Audit guidelines set by Stryker IT Quality
Expected Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other relevant field of study
• At least 10 years of professional experience in IT department
• At least 10 years of experience on Oracle DB 10g or 11g, with certification
• Experience in Production mode administration, best-practice and Production know-how
• Experience / specialisation in one or several technical area of Oracle DBA
• (i.e: RAC, performance, architecture, advanced Scripting)
• Experience in applying Disaster Recovery concepts, including implementation and testing using DataGuard or other DR replication tools
• Experience with UNIX/LINUX/AIX configuration, monitoring, trouble shooting, scripting and security
• Demonstrated leadership in Database performance tuning and trouble shooting skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, lead the team and focus on the customer, and deliver professionalism and expertise to that team
• Experience with Monitoring Tools such as OEM, Quest etc
• Experience of working with one or more of Enterprise Applications like E-Business, MDM, Oracle SOA, Oracle Clinical, PTC Windchill, TrakWise, Oracle Demantra
• Prefer experience with SAN and Replication tools such as EMC, BCV, cloning and SRDF

• Experience of Oracle Database administration, with RAC and multi node architectures with AIX as OS
• Strong know-how and hands-on in Oracle Installation, Database setup, Dataguard setup and administration
