We have a requirement with our direct client for a SAS Programmer
Position: SAS Programmer
Duration: up to 5 years
Location: Baltimore, MD
Submission date is in January
Responsibilities:
· Process quality assurance pre-defined procedures for high school assessment vendor delivered student level data files.
· Advise the high school assessment testing vendor of any data anomalies in the deliverable provided.
· Provide high school assessment student level deliverables to twenty-four local school systems after each of the five administrations (January, April, May, Summer, and October).
· Provide technical assistance to twenty-four (24) local school systems' data contacts.
· Provide reports and data files to twenty-four (24) local school systems data contacts for review and correction.
· Process corrections from local school systems within the application.
· Perform data analysis in SAS Statistical programming language as requested for high school assessment data.
· Produce biweekly status report
Deliverables:
· Biweekly Status Report
MS Word document that shall describe:
· Tasks accomplished during reporting period.
· Tasks planned for the next reporting
period
· Issues, risks, action items
Every 2 weeks by COB on Friday or as directed by the TO Manager
· Vendor Edit Report
Edit report, in MS Word, that identifies any data anomalies in the deliverable provided by vendor.
Within 2 days of vendor sending deliverable or as directed by the TO Manager.
· Local School System Edit Reports and Data Files
Edit reports, in MS Word, that identifies any data anomalies or errors in local school system data with corresponding data files.
Within 2 days of vendor sending deliverable or as directed by the TO Manager.
· Local School System High School Assessment student level deliverables
Provide each Local School System a High School Assessment student level deliverable consisting of data file and summary reports after each of the five administrations (January, April, May, Summer, and October).
After each administration or as directed by the TO Manager.
Required Skills:
· Must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business other related discipline. (Note: (5) years high school assessment accountability, data processing, and data analysis experience may be substituted for an undergraduate degree in a related educational field.)
· At least (5) years of experience programming in SAS.
· At least five (5) years of experience in a local, state, or federal education departments as a data analyst processing, quality assuring, and analyzing assessment data.
· At least five (5) years of experience in communicating with local school system data contacts.
· At least five (5) years of experience providing technical assistance to local school system data contacts.
Good oral and written communication skills. This will be validated during the interview process. Candidates shall be required to submit samples of past written communications for review. Sensitive information can be redacted. Oral communication skills can and will be validated during the interview process
