Sr. Weblogic Administrator

Position: Sr. Weblogic Administrator

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Duration: 3+ months (possibly 6-12 months)

Job Description:

Requirements:

-          Minimum 5-years hands-on experience with operating system administration including Linux/Unix and Microsoft Operating Systems is required.

-          Minimum 4-year experience with BEA WebLogic administration.

-          Minimum 4-years of experience designing and implementing deployment automation processes and tools with at least 2-years of experience with automation in a WebLogic environment (WLST experience preferred).

-          Minimum 5 years progressive experience with XML, XSLT, HTML, HTTP, LDAP, JSP, struts, ANT, IIS, Web Services, Apache/Tomcat/Jboss/Weblogic.

-          Minimum 5-years progressive experience with Unix shell scripting, Perl, PHP, and Python (Jython experience highly desired).

-          Minimum 5 years of experience with Java and JDBC

-          Minimum 5 years of experience configuring and monitoring JMS implementations.  Demonstrated understanding of JMS topics and queues. At least 2 years of experience with Weblogic distributed queues, clustered JMS implementations, and configuration /management of foreign JMS providers.

-          Minimum 5 years of experience with administration of web servers: Apache, Netscape, IIS, Installation, configuring web servers to work with Java EE application server environments.

-          Demonstrated understanding of virtual environments (VMWare, MS Virtual Server)

-          Experience with basic database administration: installation, emergency recovery, creating accounts, tuning SQL queries, indexing.

-          Demonstrated understanding of LDAP servers.

-          Understanding of network and system security: firewalls, security logs and audits, proxies, DMZ.

-          Understanding networking principles: routing, naming services, port-mapping, protocols, network address translation, DHCP, IP chaining, etc.

-          Experience with VPN and Extranet technologies.

-          Demonstrated experience implementing Web Authentication and Authorization systems, including knowledge of LDAP, ADSI, and single-sign on technologies (such as SAML).

-          Knowledge of structured analysis and design methodologies required.

-          Strong technical and troubleshooting skills to evaluate recommend and support new technology as it relates to Web-based applications. Should be well versed in networking, JVM, application memory leaks, and application thread deadlock triage and root cause analysis techniques.

-          Proven ability to analyze client information requirements, translate into technical requirements and negotiate the balance between user needs and technical implementation.

-          A proven history for working within a group to support and maintain several multi-tier, high-volume online transaction processing applications.  The candidate should be able to explain each system¿s relative success regarding performance, robustness, reliability, scalability, and supportability.

-          The ability to consider multiple solutions and provide recommendations based upon numerous variables.  

-          Ability to work under pressure, on multiple projects, and within multiple time constraints is required.

-          Prior deployment experience working with software development life cycle and methodology are strongly desired.

-          Must be a self-starter and motivated to work with people to get the task accomplished, sometimes with minimal supervision.

-          High level of customer responsiveness, excellent documentation and communication skills and attention to detail.

-          Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

There are two positions, and the below notes are to show  the slight differences between the two.

1st  Position: To work with the team and continue building out the WebLogic domains that are needed.  We would have them work with the other system admins on building environments. 

2nd Position: would work with our systems admin on automating the build out of DR.  This same automation would help with the SkyTouch work as most of their work is replicating existing environments for new teams.  This resource would also work with our systems admin on our automation efforts.
