Title:                Quality Analyst

Duration:         6+ months

Location:         New York, New York

 

Job Description:

 

*             Extensive automation experience

*             10+ years of strong technical competency – current/recent experience testing investment related/trading applications

*             Silk Test a significant positive and preferred

*             Experience with n-tier applications in SQL and Oracle

*             Expertise in scripting and executing automated test specifications and test cases

*             Expertise with black box, acceptance, integrated and system level testing

*             Knowledge of relational databases (Sybase, Oracle)

*             Knowledge of XML preferred

*             Must understand Testing Methodology Best Practices

*             Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and clearly

*             Self-motivated, thrives in an intense, dynamic environment.

*             Excellent communication skills

*             Proficient knowledge of testing tools and processes

*             Proficient knowledge of SDLC and structured methodologies.

*             Experience with VMware preferred

 

Description:

 

This individual should have significant knowledge experience testing financial systems and applications in a fast paced environment.  An EXTENSIVE automation experience preferably scripting in Silk plus, knowledge of QA best practices and familiarity with QA methodologies.  S/he is able to independently develop test plans, develop test cases, define expected results, design test data and execute tests to ensure that software product meets business and technical specifications.

 

*             Analyzes complex requirements and designs effective automated test strategies and plans.  Able to define the test data strategy and create necessary test automated scripts.

*             Develops and executes test cases of all complexity and risk.  Verifies that the application functions according to expected results and system requirements.  Identifies problems, reports defects and test progress

*             When working in automation, familiar with coding standards and various technologies (VB, SQL, C, etc).  Reviews and writes automation scripts.

*             Works independently.  Successfully applies software quality assurance techniques and best practices without supervision.

*             Seeks to develop professional skills through both formal training and daily tasks
