- Yes on DB development, DBA background is nice to have.
- Yes on DB solution developer and No on solution user (e.g. SAP, People soft).
- Yes on DB solution developer for a Product company. The person's experience tends to be more versatile and general.
- Besides typical experiences such as ETL and PL/SQL, some examples of desired database development experiences in the areas such as metadata, workflow management, rule engine, state machine, job queue management, alert and notification management, Forms generations, Report generations, etc are helpful.
- Clinical domain background definitely helps.
We have 2 developers working in this group already.

This developer will be part of multiple projects at a given time related to clinical trials.
Database Developer - Required Skills and Experience
* B.S. Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
* 5 years experience developing large database systems including significant experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and scripting
* Several years experience with database design, ETL processes, and data warehousing
* Thorough understanding of different database modeling approaches * Ability to work independently and develop projects in an agile fashion - starting from high-level requirements and refining in close interaction with customers, through short and productive development cycles
* Experience supporting application developers building data-driven applications
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Any experience with scientific or drug discovery database or database applications development a plus Data Engineering Culture
* Blend of driving operational maturity across an organization of very diverse and talented people without inhibiting innovation, creativity, and feature velocity
* Team members need to be able accept responsibility for a large number of initiatives while maintaining sufficient focus to drive each to completion
* Team members need to work effortlessly across organizations and across functional disciplines. A natural inclination toward collaborative behavior a must.
