Title: Senior Solaris Administrator

Location: Raleigh, NC

Length: 4 months, then extension

Job Description:           

This person should have experience working in an ISP or Hosting environment ,The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years recent experience in supporting Solaris Systems in production environments. Candidates must have impeccable written and verbal communication skills and have a minimum of 4 years experience with direct customer support.

What you will be doing:

Unix Systems Administration, server installations, troubleshooting and resolving issues and participating in on-call support responsibilities. Duties will additionally involve tracking performance, utilization, platform growth, and adherence to service metrics for assigned customers.

Daily duties:

·       Create technical documentation for customer environments, processes, standards, technical training, and support procedures

·       Drive efficient and effective resolution of customer issues

·       Follows WHS defined best practices and procedures for the installation, configuration and support of Unix managed services, including Solaris, AIX, and Red Hat Linux

·       Responsible for performing the installation, configuration and support of Linux and UNIX Operating Systems

·       Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage of critical customer and internal systems

·       Working knowledge of monitoring and management infrastructures

Managers notes:

1.      We are looking for someone that has near expert knowledge of key IT equipment , software and infrastructure

2.      Bachelor Degree in IT or Software Engineering

3.      7 years technical experience with 5 years directly related to systems administration
