We have a requirement with our direct client for Quality Assurance Tester.

 

 

Position: Quality Assurance Tester

Duration: 3 months

Location: Columbia, SC

 

 

Responsibilities:

We have a requirement with our direct client for a Quality Assurance Tester.

Within project schedules and other defined deadlines, candidate will provide business and system analysis, quality assurance through review and maintenance of test plans/results. The candidate will coordinate all testing activities for the project. This position involves working with a legacy system in an IBM Mainframe environment utilizing COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, CA Panvalet, ISPF/SDSF and EasyTrieve experience is a plus.

Required Skills:

• Able to formulate test plans and act upon those plans
• Able to formulate technical resolutions to business issues
• Problem-solving, troubleshooting skills
• Work closely with others in a team environment 
• Able to develop and interpret business requirements, develop technical specs, review code and develop test processes to meet requirements.
• Able to perform detailed system and data analysis of existing legacy system. Must be able to communicate with users, vendor to perform business analysis functions.
• Able to work independently, self-motivated
• Working knowledge of and experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, CA, Panvalet, ISPF/SDSF and EasyTreive.
• Excellent communication skills; fluent in English

 

Education: 

 

Bachelors in IT, Business or equivalent work experience

Preferred Skills:

 

• Familiarity with ABPS
• Business and systems analysis skills
• Ability to work well and effectively communicate with both users and developers
• COBOL, JCL, Panvalet, ISPF/SDSF, EasyTreive
• CICS
• VSAM
• DB2
• MS Office including VISIO
