Requirements Details:

Title: Network Engineer (Local candidate)
Location: San Jose, CA 
Duration: 12+ months contract

Looking for a Network Engineer to ensure the continued enhancement of features in the production network. For this role, you be faced with both scaling the network and providing additional features necessary for the variety of applications and services of the customers demand. 

Responsibilities: 
Work with other team members and independently and groups to implement and support network designs, solutions and policies as determined by Sr. Network Engineers. 
Support internal application groups by implementing their network-impacting requirements as designated by Sr. Network Engineers. 
Support and implement growing network infrastructure 
Participate in daily operations managing break/fix, enhancement requests, and outages via a trouble ticketing system. 
Support Network Operations projects by providing implementation and documentation support to Sr. Network Engineers and Architects. 

Requirements: 

BA or BS in EE/CS or equivalent work experience 
CCNA/CCNP (or equivalent training/experience) are preferred but not required. 
3-5 years of experience on a service provider or enterprise-level network in engineering or design roles working with Cisco technologies - routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, protocols, etc. 
Operational experience with enterprise/carrier-class routers and switches (experience with Cisco required) 
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, POS, PPP, VRRP, VTP, HSRP, and SNMP protocols 
Network routing protocol troubleshooting skills in BGP and OSPF 
Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to influence others with your network engineering solutions 
Ability to work well independently and on a team. 
Good troubleshooting skills. 
Experience with standard network change management and configuration policies. 
Unix administration knowledge a plus 
Shell or Perl scripting knowledge a plus 
Working knowledge of datacenter design and layout. 
Ability to work independently and self-directed. 
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities under direction.
