Urgent Client Need

Sr. JAVA Developer
Location: Chicago, IL
Exp Level: 8+ years
Duration: 12 Months+

Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area
6-8 years of Java programming (Java Certification a plus). Prior experience working in a large eCommerce application is preferred
Experience in Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Webservices.
Solid experience with JSPs, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, and other standard web technologies and protocols
Knowledge of UI development and design principles
Experience in all phases of SDLC
Proficiency in Oracle database system and relational database concepts

Roles and responsibility
Member of an Agile development team
Participate in release and iteration planning meetings with engineers and users
Employ organizational design patterns to develop application logic
Develop, enhance and manage new and existing web applications
Actively interact with users to understand requirements
Maintain high level of application and data integrity
Perform detailed analysis/design of functional and non-functional requirements and translate them to software solutions in the Grainger commerce environments
Participate in task level estimating of work assigned during the project planning stages
Conduct and participate in code reviews that may span multiple projects
Provide application support, mentor new developers
Support production deployments during go live
