JoB Title: SAN Engineer

Other duties:
· Develop and maintain capacity planning tool and reports
· Implement and manage network storage management, performance, and monitoring tools

Candidates must have:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, related field.
· 6 – 10 years' experience in an IT infrastructure environment.
· 5 or more years of Network Storage Engineering/Administration
· Symmetrix experience is necessary!!!
· 5 or more years of EMC Storage Device experience
· 5 or more year of Brocade SAN network device experience
· 5 or more year of network storage monitoring experience
· Solid understanding of network storage principles and best practices
· Solid understanding of EMC SAN storage devices
· Solid understanding of Brocade SAN network devices
· Solid understanding of SAN zoning techniques and best practices
· Solid understanding of NAS and iSCSI networks and storage devices
· Solid understanding of network storage monitoring and tools
· Solid understanding of network storage security best practices
· Solid understanding of Windows, Linux, and UNIX operating systems
· Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively
· Ability to calmly resolve high risk situations
· Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of responsibilities

· Solid understanding of TCP/IP in addition to well-known ports and protocols
· Proven track record in managing projects to successful completion
· Experience developing and maintaining comprehensive network security documentation
· Hands on experience with Wintel, UNIX and/or Linux operating systems
· Familiarity with web based application architecture design
· Network packet capture and interpretation experience
· Proficiency with MS/Office products
Vendor & Customer Management
· Manages the selection, purchase and installation of security devices and related systems
· Negotiates and manages vendor agreements, contracts and major expenditures
· Meets with vendors to discuss and address infrastructure problems, projects and administrative issues
· Manages service levels through the creation and implementation of standards, policies and procedures
Preferred Skills/Experience:
· ITIL & PMP certifications
· Touch typing
