Title: .Net Developer
location: Miami Beach, FL
Duration: 6+ months
This is an Analyst/Programmer position for a highly motivated individual who is skilled in systems analysis and design, and implementation of complex systems in the automation of Parking functions as well as having full life cycle experience developing web-enabled MS-SQL database-driven applications. The employee may be assigned to a variety of tasks related to the creation, modification, or maintenance of systems, e.g. programming, user training, and/or to provide system support to users of various Parking applications.
Illustrative Examples of Essential Duties:
• Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications.
• Facilitates entire development life cycle including analysis, design, testing and implementation.
• Participates in fact finding interviews (Joint Action Development-JAD) to gather information; applies current state-of-the-art technology to effect solution of problems; arrives at design objectives and requirements
• Translates system requirements into record layouts and/or process flow diagrams, and prepares specifications for new information systems and/or improvements.
• Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
• Develops application programs using multi-tiered environment.
• Knowledge of MVC 3 & MVC 4 programing and frameworks.
• Knowledge of WCF programing and frameworks.
• Knowledge of WPF programing and frameworks.
• Reviews system resources, performance and does maintenance.
• Debugs Infrastructure Applications\Software problems.
• Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installation to support an organization's application systems.
• May be expected to write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
• Develops and implements database tables including normalization.
• Developing front-end web interfaces using Microsoft Technologies.
• Develops queries and stored procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, management information systems, mathematics or related field; also, at least five (5) years equivalent work experience as a programmer/systems analyst. Additional related experience and/or current technical certifications may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Microsoft Developer Certification a plus.
• Full systems development life cycle experience developing applications in a three tier environment (Client, Application, Web, Mobile, Database).
• Experience developing web-enabled applications – VB.Net, ASP.Net, SQL Reporting Services, Windows Web Services.
• Experience with data management.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Considerable knowledge of state-of-the-art computer hardware.
• Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with software development, methodologies and techniques, including programming languages and software packages.
• Considerable knowledge of SQL Server and database design, query and administration.
• Considerable knowledge of Web Server Administration.
• Knowledge and experience installing and configuring Application and Internet Servers.
• Considerable knowledge of application development in a three tier environment
• Considerable knowledge of application development using tools such as Visual Basic, VBScript, JSON, HTML5, CSS, ASP, VB.NET, C#, MS-SQL, ADO, XML, HTML, JavaScript, SQL Server Reporting Services, and Visual Studio 2008 & 2012
• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret functional organizational and procedural problems, and to make alterations in existing systems.
Physical Requirements:
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
• Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
• Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
• Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact.
• Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, word processor, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
• Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling,, reaching, and handling, sitting, standing, pushing, and pulling.
Supervision Received:
• Supervision is received for achievement of desired results and conformance to departmental standards, and may provide assistance, as required.
