Requirements :
Data Analysis
• Create, support, and administer SQL/column oriented database
• Ability to configure a Vertica database with optimal configuration parameters
• Implement security in Vertica
• Ability to manage Vertica license
• Strong knowledge of partioning tables in Vertica, monitoring and recovering the database
• Be able to perform Vertica database backup and restore operations
• Manage various nodes, manage workloads and perform load balancing
• Provide 24X7 support for production databases
• Good knowledge in performance tuning to support large data warehousing solutions
• Ability to solve complex database issues
• Develop and automate scripts to verify and monitor health/integrity of databases
• Assists with data modeling, planning, designing and implementing a high quality Data Warehouse production environment
• Review and tune various SQL Queries, Reports, and Views for performance and best practices
• Disaster recovery plan
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 plus year's related experience
• Experience working with Vertica
• Strong knowledge in various Vertica database configuration parameter, K-safe and projections
• Experience in using Vertica admintool and VSQL
• Recent experience in setting up and managing Vertica, Oracle 11G, data guard
• Experience as an operations DBA in a 24X7 envvironment
• Proven ability in managing databases of 1-10TB in size
To develop and deliver the following deliverables (collectively, the "Deliverables"):
• Provide Vertica database backup and restore operations
• Provide 24X7 support for production databases
• Create, support, and administer SQL/column oriented database
• Ability to configure a Vertica database with optimal configuration parameters
• Develop and automate scripts to verify and monitor health/integrity of databases
• Implement high quality Data Warehouse production environment
• Review and tune various SQL Queries, Reports, and Views for performance and best practices
• Disaster recovery plan documentation
