Sure closure: Python/Ruby Developer, IL

Position: Developer (Python, Ruby, Mongo, Django)

Duration: 6 months

Location: Chicago, IL 

 

Duties:
-    Collaborating with a team to design and develop solutions to fulfill complex and demanding project requirements
-    Developing spiders (web crawlers) and algorithms to collect and parse data from a variety of online data sources
-    Ensuring collected data quality through both automated and manual processes
-    Exporting collected data into client-facing reports
-    Providing ongoing client deliverable support and spider maintenance
-    Managing responsibilities to meet deadlines while communicating status and setbacks

Required:

·  Our ideal Candidate will have 2+ to 5 years of experience

·  3+ years of object-oriented development experience

Extensive experience programming in at least ONE of the following:

1.    Python (strongly preferred)

2.    Ruby

3.    Java

4.    C/C++

·  -    Strong algorithms and data structures background

·  -    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

·  -    Ability to develop high-performance and scalable software solutions

·  -    Ability to collaborate with others in a fast-paced environment

·  -    Confidence to introduce new ideas and technologies to the team

·  -    Sense of urgency and self-motivation

·  -    Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

·  -    Excellent written and oral communication skills

·  -    Experience with customer service and/or direct client interaction

·  -    Experience writing complex SQL queries

·  -    Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Javascript

·  -    Bachelors (or higher) degree in computer science/engineering or related field

Preferred:                                       

·              Django experience

·              MongoDB experience

·              Web crawling/automation experience

·              Familiarity with Linux (any flavor)

·              Familiarity with Amazon AWS:  EC2, RDS, and S3
