Job Description - SAP Basis Senior Administrator
This position is for SAP Basis Senior Administrator. The selected candidate will be hired into the Global Finance Technology (GFT) Group, an IT Group within the Corporate Technology Group, supporting the Global Finance Organization and Financial Systems of which the SAP ECC 6.0 System is used as the Domestic Ledger system and SAP BW 7.3 on Netweaver platform is used for reporting.
Responsibilities and duties
- Daily administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning of all SAP ECC 6.0, BW 7.3, and Solution Manager environments
- Perform SAP software installation, upgrades, applying support packages, system copies/refreshes and installation add-on software components.
- Responding to and resolving infrastructure related incidents & problems
- Works with OS & DB Administrators for optimal SAP Performance
- Provide Support and Guidance to the other Project and Development teams during the build, test and productive operation of project implementation.
- Provides support for Disaster Recovery and DR test as required.
- Provide all aspects of technical support for SAP Basis Administration in a proactive and reactive mode to ensure that the systems perform within the terms of their respective service level agreements.
- Configure the SAP Netweaver environment for high availability
- Perform Early Watch analysis and apply recommendations.
- Participate in multi-landscape design solutions, architecture recommendations, and strategies for continuous improvement.
- Maintain multi-landscape environments through remote copies, system refreshes, and transport management monitoring.
- Provide daily support SAP ECC and BW End-Users with system and reporting problems.
- Perform Daily System Health Checks on all SAP systems and do general troubleshooting and diagnostics checks on technical aspects of the system.
- Setup of User Printers within SAP, as well as support the installation of Front-end Gui's for end-users.
- Configure and Maintain Transport System Landscapes and operate Change Management Tools
- Perform Setup and Configuration of Solution Manager CCMS in order to monitor & administer the SAP systems.
- Provide Production Support on a periodic 24x7 support with on-call responsibilities
- Work with SAP via OSS & Solution Manager to technical resolve problems
Qualifications:
- 5+ years SAP Basis experience in managing SAP environments.
- 3+ years of SAP BW & Portal experience specifically focused in NetWeaver, Web Application Server (WebAS) experience on Unix (AIX 6.1 preferred) and ORACLE (10g, 11g preferred)
- 3+ years experience with Unix platforms and Database like Oracle & DB2
- Experience with SAP ECC and SAP BW Operations, Maintenance and application of support packs.
- Experience with technical setup & configuration of SAP ECC, SAP BW NetWeaver, Upgrades and Application of Support packs.
- Experience in supporting Implementation Projects, Development, Testing and Production Operations of SAP ECC and SAP BW & Portal Solutions.
- Good working knowledge of Unix Scripting, ABAP and Java Development will be of value, but not essential
- BWA experience not essential, but a plus
- BPC 10.0 experience not essential, but a plus

- Candidate must be a self starter with the ability to work to tight timelines and be prepared to work occasional overtime.
- Candidate must have and exhibit the ability to lead critical software/infrastructure projects
- Excellent customer facing skills
- Applicant must have strong English written and oral communication skills to effectively execute responsibilities as part of a highly skilled dynamic SAP Technical Team
- Strong team and interpersonal skills
- Applicant will exhibit strong analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills to operate either within a team or independently
