Position: ETL Developer
Location: NYC/NY
Duration: 12 Months
DESCRIPTION:
Skill and Role Summary:
An experienced developer who will take over the existing ETL process that populates data in near-real time in the data warehouse.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Candidate will have to work with UNIX Shell scripts to migrate the data from a Sybase source database into a Netezza data warehouse. SQL statements are used to then transform the data within the target database. The person will focus primarily on maintaining the existing scripts and incorporating any new SQL statements into the existing framework. The developer will by heavy on SQL and must be able to troubleshoot data issues. The person must also be strong on data warehousing concepts.
Requirements:
REQUIRED:
- Experience with developing ETL jobs within a data warehousing environment. No specific tools are required, but the candidate must have working knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
- Strong SQL
- UNIX Shell scripting
PREFERRED:
- Financial experience.
- Star schema data architecture
- Experience with front-end BI development
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience with Sybase
- Netezza development
- Hedge fund data
- Agile development methodology
