Business Architect

 

6 months.

Minneapolis, MN

 

Description:

 

Candidates should have a proven track record creating the vision and value for a centralized and standardized approach to Business Architecture. Candidates must demonstrate a broad, enterprise-wide view of a multi-channel business (retail preferred) focusing on strategy, processes, capabilities, enabling technologies and governance. Candidates should also have the ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-market group redundancies.  The candidate should have experience applying architectural principles, methods and tools to business challenges.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

·         12 years of broad IT experience with demonstrated progression of responsibilities

·         4 years' management or leadership experience including people and/or budget responsibility

·         Broad knowledge of:

o   Development of architecture guiding principles, standards and processes

o   IT governance and operations

o   Capacity management, performance management, and trend analysis

·         Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application and systems engineering

·         Knowledge of financial modeling as it pertains to IT investment, and ability to create a business case and ROI for a project or initiative

·         Systems thinking ability (understand how parts interact with the whole)

·         Consultative approach and customer service orientation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·         4 years' experience at a manager or director level in:

o   An IT function for a global consumer-oriented organization in retail, digital business or related industry

o   A multi-channel/multi-brand business environment

·         Strong situational analysis and decision making skills

·         Ability to take a broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and understand its desired end-state business model including both business strategy and operations

·         Ability to translate broad, enterprise-wide strategies into implications of processes and capabilities

·         Experience planning and deploying business and technology capabilities

·         Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization

·         Ability to act as a liaison conveying the strategic needs of the business to IT and the strategic plan of IT to the business

·         Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus
