We need 2 very strong Java developers urgently on long-term basis in NYC.
Skills and topics that they should know thoroughly are given below:
1. What is garbage collection? What is path to root? How does JVM decides the eligibility? What is a good practice?
2. How does threading work in Java? What is a process and a thread? How do you know the status of a process and status of a thread? What is a deadlock? What is a best practice?
3. What is a hashcode and why is this required? How is a hashmap implemented? How would you implement your own hashmap? What is the search algorithm and steps that is used by Java in HashMaps?
4. How are objects passed around in java?
5. If a trade calculation takes 10 minutes, and you have 100 trades to run this calculation for, what is the optimum number of threads that you would program the application for?
6. How would you implement a thread pool? And a thread monitor? How would you assign and free threads?
7. Database concepts – Indexes, querying, clustered and non-clustered indexes
