Role: Data warehouse Developer with ETL & BO Data Integrator or Data Services

Location: Washington, DC

Length: 6 Months +

Mode of hire: Contract

Start date: Should be able to start before end of this Month

They MUST have hands-on experience with 1-2 years experience with Business Objects Data Integrator or Business Object Data Services. along with ETL. 

 

Duties: Works in a data warehouse environment which includes database design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation.  Works with business users and subject matter experts to identify and document requirements.  Identifies data sources, compiles source to target mappings, and transformations.  Reviews and monitors data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy.  Troubleshoots and tunes existing data warehouse applications.  Assists in establishing development standards.  Creates new or enhanced components of the data warehouse. Works with Business Analysts to define metadata in business terms.  Establishes and enforces ETL standards and architecture for the project and ensures that the ETL requirements are adequately understood and documented. 

 

Required:

• Minimum of 1 year of Business Objects Data Integrator (New name Data Services) experience including: design, creation, maintenance and troubleshooting of multiple jobs, scheduling, and use of various triggers supported by DI.  Also, experienced with establishing data mappings, transformations and workflows.  
• Experience with data warehousing design approaches such as star schema, snowflake schema, and Dimensional or Aggregate designs and others;

Desired:

•  Minimum of one year of Business Objects XI Experience including design, creation, maintenance and troubleshooting of multiple universes as well as strong report and advanced queries developing skills;
• Able to lead business requirement definition activities and translate them into logical and physical database designs;
• Robust knowledge of relational database concepts, SQL and procedural SQL;
• Experience in the design, implementation and development of ETL processes against high-volume data sources in a full SDLC environment;
• Experience in designing strategies for ETL audit, load, balance, exception handling, and high data throughput;
• Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate and support IT project and infrastructure teams;
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate at various levels within the business organization;
• Demonstrated planning skills;
