Role: Senior Tech Analyst- Business Objects Developer
Function/Purpose:
A Senior Technical Analyst is primarily responsible for the analysis, design and development of SAP Business Objects applications. Assists project team in the implementation of business solutions as assigned by the project leader. A Senior Technical Analyst should possess good oral and written communication skills and a good knowledge of IT development policies and procedures.
This role will be responsible for technical design, development, testing and deployment of Business Objects based solutions. This person will work closely with various functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Business Objects Manager you will focus on the following areas:
· Executing the development/integration of functionality for new Business Objects applications.
· Analysis of business requirements and documentation of technical system design.
· Provide technical support for existing Business Objects applications, including the development of enhancement requests and defect resolution
· Work with business analysts to translate client requirements into development projects
· Provide project status and time accounting as required by IT administration.
· Encourage dissemination of technical methods to the project team and convey technical procedures as required.
· Day to day support activities. Resolving system bugs. Assisting business staff with questions, investigating issues.
· Research, relate and recommend technical solutions and relevant software application tools, utilities, environments and languages.
· Attend technical seminars and presentations.
· Off hour support is required and Limited Travel may be required.
Education and Experience Requirements
· Bachelors Degree in Information Technology (or equivalent experience)
· 5 years + or relevant work experience.
· A minimum of 3-5 years experience developing with Business Objects (both universe and report development experience)
· Experience with application development lifecycle from requirements definition through to implementation
· Knowledge/experience 3 to 5+ years Business Objects development
· Strong Business Objects development skills
· Experience with Webi, Crystal Reports & Xcelsius toolsets
· Familiarity with principles of IT project management and IT governance is a plus
· Test-driven development
· SQL Server experience
· Experience with Informatica is a plus
Critical Skills:
· Ability to develop and evaluate alternative technical solutions to best meet the needs of the business.
· An ability to manage from start to finish small to medium size project requests with minimal supervision
· Strong communication and documentation skills
· Strong analytic and problem solving skills
· Ability to handle several assignments simultaneously
· Ability to complete tasks meeting project plan schedules and deadlines
