Position: Senior-level Oracle Developer/DBA
Location: Irvine, CA
Duration: 12 month contract
Duties:
Work closely with various development teams across the firm to ensure proper use of Oracle features, best practices, and adherence to database standards.
Train and mentor developers that have spent their careers in the Sybase world, in Oracle development methodology.
Participate in the DBA teams on call rotation.
Tune complex Oracle SQL proactively & reactively as necessary.
Support TimesTen databases as required.
Handle your share of DBA tickets, user requests, routine support and maintenance.
Ability to work off hours / weekends as required.
Position Requirements:
8+ years experience as a Database Engineer, DBA, or Database developer.
5+ years of database development support.
Experience with Oracle 11g & Oracle RAC is required. Any experience with Sybase, Golden Gate, Exadata, business intelligence is a plus.
Experience in TimesTen is a plus
Expertise in PL/SQL coding and stored procedures development, shell scripting, SQL, & OLAP. Comfortable with the use of Cubes, materialized views, analytic functions.
Proven track record of SQL and database tuning on VLDBs.
Deep knowledge of Oracle Database.
Should know NEST LOOP and HAS JOINS- how they function, what are the differences
Know single server(i.e resource manager), should know it well.
Must have Exadata experience.
Know clusterware in regards to 11g
Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills.
Good communication skills.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent.
