Strong troubleshooting skills

Strong TCP understanding as it pertains to packet inspection and TCP flow in the Network and Application flows.

Candidates should have integration, configuration, and troubleshooting experience with the F5 Web Acceleration and DNS products.

 

Preferred:


Experience with version 11 iApps Templates, iApps Analytics, and the Application Delivery Network concept.

Recent NetScaler/Citrix administrative experience is a plus and strongly desired. Any experience with cloud based load balancing solutions is also preferred.

The BIG-IP Load Balancing Engineer will be an expert in the F5 Local (LTM) and Global (GTM) Load Balancing platforms and possess a solid Network background including Layer 2 through Layer 4 with an understanding of switch, network routing, and firewall concepts. Candidates must possess very strong troubleshooting skills as well as a strong TCP understanding as it pertains to packet inspection and TCP flow in the Network and Application flows. This troubleshooting and engineering process forms the majority of normal work.

 

We have over 20 devices with dozens of applications each requiring conversion from their current configuration and iRules.

 

Primary Responsibilities:


Working in structured change management processes for highly available enterprise networks.

Conversion of application configurations on version 9.x and 10.x F5 LTMs to the 11.x iApps Template format.

Editing and converting iRules to iApps Templates.

Advanced troubleshooting of Production problems in concert with managed service provider experts.

Managing load balancers and SSL accelerators in a high-availability infrastructure.

Communications to enterprise customers, both written and verbal.

Provide documentation describing system configuration for use by managed service provider engineers during setup and install.
