XAML Developer

 

Skill and Role Summary:

The XAML developer will assist an asset management client in providing design, development and code focused on improving the overall user experience through the look and feel of a retail brokerage platform.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

The XAML developers will use Microsoft Expression Blend in combination with Visual Studio 2010 to define and deliver new rich application functionality to support client's XAML based retail brokerage platform.  The XAML developer will work closely with all disciplines' of the retail brokerage project team to develop initial concepts, throw away prototypes and front end production ready XAML code, while leveraging existing styles and coding patterns, such as MVVM, with a continued determination for extending the current XAML framework.  The XAML developer will have a good understanding of layout and general design, as you will be expected to design new application interaction models and product features as a Proof-of-Concept designs to demonstrate your thinking, as well as providing a level of "fit and finish" design to the user interface.

 

The XAML code produced will be targeted for deployment on the retail brokerage platform, as well as being reused across a variety of client's online products.  Due to the multiple deployment points for the functionality, the XAML developer may need to create multiple iterations of a solution in order to account for the slight experience differences across applications and platforms.

 

Typical project deliverables:

·         Analysis of the current XAML codebase with an eye to recommendations

·         Design & development of new XAML components using current XAML best practices

·         Produce CAML code to improve look and feel of the retail brokerage platform

·         Interactive XAML prototypes for illustrating new interactions and animations

·         High fidelity XAML prototypes to support usability testing

·         High quality production ready front end XAML code

·         Bug fixing as well as providing "fit & finish" to the current front end XAML UI

Requirements:

·         WPF and Silverlight

·         Knowledge of C# but not required to code in C#

·         Working knowledge of MVVM

·         Expression blend

·         User experience design principles

·         Able to effectively work with multi-discipline team
