We are looking to strong skills in these two areas with ateast 5 yrs hands on experience.

ASP.net , Vb.net - minimum 5 yrs

Oracle pl/Sql - 5 yrs

This position will serve as the Sr. Level Analyst/Programmer for the Genomics and Newborn Screening (NBS) Program.  The Genomics and NBS program has developed a suite of applications in-house to collect and monitor NBS data for client service, public health surveillance and Federal Title V Reporting.  This position will lead in the support of this suite of systems as well as development of new applications and integration with other systems in support of Genomics and NBS program requirements.  The NBS System serves more than 88,000 newborns annually and is critical to providing adequate follow-up and referral to those infants identified with an abnormal birth condition.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Communication skills for gathering critical business requirements;

• Business analysis skills for understanding program area goals;

• Advanced software development skills in Microsoft.NET using Oracle 10g (PLSQL)          

• Previous work with enterprise portals, data marts, and data integration is a plus.

• Sr-Level experience in Web Development, PL/SQL Programming, Web-based Programming and

Database and Application Designing and Testing.

• Experience in Application & Database designs and data analysis.  Support existing .NET web

applications and develop new projects using Microsoft.NET and Oracle technologies. 

• Excellent knowledge in preparing business requirements, technical specifications, Process Flow

Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams, user guide and user training manuals.

• Design and develop batch process procedures based on given process flow diagrams.  Proficient in

PLSQL programming for implementing core business logic.

• Experience in coding, tuning complex SQL queries, and experience in performance tuning of database

and applications. 

• Expertise in developing web based applications using .Net Framework, VB, ASP.Net, VB.Net, ADO.Net. 

• Working knowledge of .NET remoting and integrating web applications into portal. 

• Working knowledge of implementing user authentication and Internet security. 

• Experience in preparation of test cases and should have excellent testing skills. 

• Knowledgeable in the use of Network technologies like TCP/IP, SMTP and HTTP etc.

• Intermediate level DBA skills. 

• Experienced in Data loading using SQL Loader, Export and Import utilities.

• ExperiencedDevelopment Life Cycle (SDLC).

Personal Work Relationships:

Position will work in cooperation with other developers within and across project teams at the agency as well as with developers from other agencies. Position should colaberate with other developers to eliminate duplication of effort. Position recieves tasks/duties from NBS project managers. Position will also work with program area staff, clinic staff, and other customers when required to perform duties.
