Job Title: Cognos Developer
Location: Freemont, CA
Duration: 3+ Months

Job Description:
Responsible for Cognos 8.3/8.4 report development, support production, analyze functional specification documents and create technical specification and support documentation. Detailed knowledge of Cognos 8.x including Report studio, Query Studio and Analysis Studio.

Required Skills:

• Cognos Report Studio, Query Studio and hands on experience in creating complex drill through reports
• Data Warehouse and SQL knowledge in SQL Server
• Very good hands on experience with FM Modeling
• Some experience in Cognos Administration
• Understanding about the Crystal report and able to generate SQL queries out of Crystal report.
• Experience with Cognos SDK, JavaScript desired
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Cognos reporting solution and FM Modeling
• Convert reports from Crystal to Cognos
• Quality Assurance for Cognos Reports
• Managing release and deployment of Cognos Reports in Production
• Data analysis, report validation and writing complex SQL queries in SQL Server
• Developing user friendly reports and providing training to end users on reporting solution as well
• Some Cognos admin tasks such as granting/removing access to users, automate Cognos reports, maintain security layer in Cognos etc.
• Support all Cognos Production issues

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• Three to Five years of experience in Cognos Report writing
• Three to Five years of experience in SQL Query writing and FM Modeling
• One years+ experience of Cognos administration
