Some Easter treasure hunts are just more fun than others! Here's how to make sure yours is one of the best!!

"we had our picnic with our treasure hunt on Saturday. we had it at a public lake so we had the obstacle of other people. it just made it more interesting.
I was very amazed on how smooth the game went once it was all set up. I had seven teams with ages varying between 4 and 45 and 4 helpers. The hunt was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I used the games in your game set with a few alterations. below is a picture of the Egyptian mummy game. This was so funny to watch the teams. everyone had a great time especially the team who won the treasure box with 500 loonies in it!!!!

For the code, we sent the kids to a computer where they typed in the code and then a PowerPoint presentation sent them to the kitchen for the treasure. it was really brilliant fun and I know we'll be doing it all again soon! We had a great Treasure Hunt for my daughter’s 11 year old party. we had five teams and I had two other grown-ups helping me. I did the pea challenge, the balancing on a rope, a general knowledge quiz, the backward clues quiz, a memory game and a beat the buzzer game, some they found more challenging than others. The treasure map I hid inside a balloon and mixed it in with lots of other balloons so they had to pop them all to find the map, I had also hidden the bag of balloons.
The treasure map was then found and the hunt for the chest started - it was located up a tree.
They all had great fun, the weather stayed dry and the bags of gold coins for the treasure box were appreciated. What a great idea, I shall certainly keep it for using again.

The tropical island theme worked really well. The island names were decided upon via 6 fond memories that Mike and Judy carry with them after 40 years of marriage. it really personalized the game! at each island station the teams found their challenge in a bottle (with sand and seashells) to replicate a 'message in a bottle'!

Yes, we did have the treasure hunt and it was a lot of fun. it was for my daughter's 9th birthday and she had 12 guests. we had wished to play it outside but the weather did not cooperate so we stayed inside my house and garage area. it worked out fine to be inside.
The kids were so into the tasks. it was really fun for me to think up creative and fun things for them to do at each city. at one city they had to pick a teammate to be wrapped up in a whole roll of toilet paper. we had an obstacle course and I even through in some math problems to figure out.
For the treasure box I was able to find a bulk bag of gold/chocolate coins to mix in with other loot. it was great and I will definitely be using the plan again in the future.

Everything went well. I think the item they had the most fun with was finding something with the letter M. my son's name starts with the letter M. They had about 50 questions about what they could use. of the 25 items on their list, they were unable to get only two items a postage stamp and a 4 leaf clover. What surprised me the most was the number of parents and kids who had no idea what a Scavenger Hunt was.

"we did the treasure hunt at our picnic on Sunday and it was a hit. I learned a lot, particularly about being rushed into setting it up. but all in all, everyone had a good time and they were challenged by the clues. "hi Nikki, the Treasure Hunt was a GREAT success, and everyone had a GREAT time at the annual Block Party! ALL the kids (and I mean all....there must have been at least 60 - 70 kids participating) had a great time, and I think the adults at each of the participating homes on the block did also! we did the Pirate theme and everyone seemed to enjoy all of the pirate flags...balloons, and the Pirate we had 'hanging in the galley' of Pirate Beach (he was a bit scary for the real youngsters...but it definitely added to the effect we were trying to achieve.)
We had a huge Treasure Chest 'buried' in our back yard filled with all sorts of toys, candy bags, faux jewelry, coins etc.... and the winning team all seemed to revel in the excitement.
We can't thank you enough for your help. The program really helped us to plan, and make the event as special as you had described. Thanks for all of the pointers along the way, and we look forward to possibly hosting this event at our next Block Party!

"we had our treasure hunt Sat night. it was great. The students enjoyed it and so did the adults that were working the different stations. I was so relieved to have something already complete and ready to use. it was user friendly. we changed the font and copied it onto brown aged paper and it looked so real. we had middle school age and college age. They all enjoyed it. we had the stations set up among a pirate town and they had to go through the town to complete. we used it to eliminate the teams to two and the two completed a treasure hunt that was extra. "The treasure hunt party was great; my 16 year old son said it was an awesome party. all the kids came dressed in costume as well as the adults! The hunt took about 1.5 hours to complete. The clues lead to a compass and spade, the compass lead to a treasure map, and the map then lead to the treasure that was buried. when they dug up the chest it was wrapped in chains and locked, and a clue giving them a hint as to where they could find the key, which was hidden in another chest. Being a pirate party, there were several chests for them to look through, but it was in the cake which was shaped like a chest.
We served jerk chicken and shrimp before the hunt, they did the hunt, then ate cake, opened the chest, then played capture the flag in the dark (they had on glow stick necklaces). everyone had a grand time!! Thanks for your ideas.."
